Batukaev's case: Supreme Court canceled its ruling of November 2020 based on General Prosecutor's motion, this is nonsense - MP

The ruling of the Supreme Court is final and is not subject to appeal, according to the article 98 of the Constitution of Kyrgyzstan, MP Seid Atambaev (Alamedin district) said at plenary session of the Parliament on January 11.

On November 30, 2020, the panel of judges of the Supreme Court considered Aziz Batukaev's case and ruled cancellation of rulings of the district and city courts as unlawful, he said.

'The case was returned to the district court for reconsideration. The case remained in the Pervomaiskiy district court. Then based on the motion of the General Prosecutor's Office, the Supreme Court canceled its ruling of November 30, 2020, without any new circumstances arisen, and took over the case from the district court. This is nonsense. This does not fit into any framework of legality, lawyers say. In February 2022, Zamirbek Bazarbekov was appointed Supreme Court Chairman.
