BEARING

IN

MIND

the

Joint

Declaration made

by the

Foreign

Ministers

of

the

Cartagena

Agreement

member

countries

and

of

the

European

Communities

on

5

May

1980;

AWARE

of

the

fact

that

the

traditional

bonds

of

friendship

between

the

member

countries

of

the

Cartagena

Agreement

and

the

Member

States

of

the

Community should

be

consolidated

and

strengthened;

REAFFIRMING

their

joint resolve

to

support

the

efforts made

by

the

Cartagena

Agreement

and

by

the

Community

to

encourage

the

setting

up

and

strengthening

of

regional

organizations

intended

to

promote

economic growth, social

progress

and

cultural

development,

at

the

same time

introducing

a

factor

of

equilibrium

into

international

relations;
