100,000 personal identification numbers assigned by mistake in Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Digital Development suggests that suspension or cancellation of the personal identification number will be possible without application of a citizen.

The respective amendments to the law on personified (individual) registration of citizens of Kyrgyzstan for mandatory state social insurance were published for public discussion.

Until July 1, 2017, personified identification numbers were assigned by the Social Fund. Then this function was taken over by population registration departments. The Social Fund has not transferred all data in full resulting in technical mistakes in assignment of personal identification numbers, when one citizen had several such numbers.
