Single Resolution Board And Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Sign Cooperation Arrangement

On December 14, 2017, the EU Single Resolution Board and the US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation announced that they had signed a cooperation agreement which would provide for information sharing and cooperation in policymaking and resolution planning for cross-border financial institutions. The preamble of the agreement notes that given the interconnectedness of the global financial system, such cooperation is necessary to promote financial stability in the event of an institution's failure.
