El Secretario General de la Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA), Albert R. Ramdin, encabezará una delegación de alto nivel de socios regionales e internacionales a Haití del 16 al 19 de agosto de 2026, en una misión destinada a demostrar apoyo al pueblo y a las instituciones haitianas en una coyuntura crítica de los esfuerzos liderados por Haití para restablecer la estabilidad, fortalecer la gobernabilidad, avanzar en el proceso electoral, atender las necesidades humanitarias urgentes y sentar las bases para un desarrollo sostenible. La delegación incluirá a la Secretaria General de la CARICOM, Dra. Carla Barnett.
La visita se produce en un momento importante para Haití, mientras las autoridades nacionales trabajan para mejorar las condiciones de seguridad y prepararse para las elecciones presidenciales y legislativas previstas para el 13 de diciembre de 2026.
