THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,

UNDERSCORING the importance of the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials (CIFTA) in furthering the improvement of public security in the Americas;

BEARING IN MIND the importance of continuing to develop cooperation and technical assistance aimed at facilitating full implementation of the CIFTA;

MINDFUL of the importance of holding regular meetings of the Consultative Committee to review the workings and implementation of the CIFTA; and
