NOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS
Todd Carney is a student at Harvard Law School. He holds a Bachelor’s
degree in Political Science and Public Communications from Ameri-
can University. He has also worked in digital media in New York City
and Washington D.C. Todd has had many pieces published in publica-
tions such as Lawfare and Opinio Juris, along with several forthcoming
articles in legal academic journals. Todd’s interest of study in the law is
the rule of law in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. He hopes to spend
his career working on those issues, and helping both protect and pro-
mote democracy in those two regions.
Mohamed Hassan is currently working as a Lawyer at the American
University in Cairo. He did an LL.M. in international and comparative
law at the American University in Cairo, and did an LL.B at Assuit Uni-
versity.
Pranoto Iskandar is the founding director of the Institute for Migrant
Rights, Cianjur—Indonesia. Currently, he is codeveloping the Cornell
Comparative Farmworker Project. In addition to his role as founding
editor of the Indonesian Journal of International & Comparative Law,
he also serves at the editorial board of the International Journal of
Migration and Border Studies and an expert member of the advisory
editorial board of Border and Migration Studies Online. Previously,
he was an O’Brien Fellow in Residence at McGill Centre for Human
Rights and Legal Pluralism, the Inaugural Fellow at the Institute of Asia
and Pacic Studies at Nottingham University’s Malaysia Campus, and
Visiting Scholar at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, University
of Oslo. He has delivered lectures in many universities, including
Peking University School of Transnational Law and Monash University
Malaysia’s School of Arts and Social Sciences.
John Reilly is a lawyer from Brooklyn, New York and works in the sanc-
tions compliance eld. He is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School (2019)
and the College of the Holy Cross (2016). His interests include LGBT
law, international law, and family law. He is a member of the New York
