NOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS
Roni A. Elias received his JD from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical
University, College of Law in December 2015. He earned his B.S. from
Nova Southeastern University (2005). While in law school he was
Research Assistant for Dean Darryll K. Jones. He will be seeking a law
license in United Kingdom in 2016. In 2016 he will also be starting an
LLM program in Tax. He has worked on and continues to with BCCI
Creditor’s Protection Committee which has returned over $9 Billion
dollars to the depositors and creditors of BCCI.
Pranoto Iskandar is Founding Director of the Institute for Migrant
Rights and is O’Brien Fellow in Residence at McGill Centre for Human
Rights and Legal Pluralism. rough the Institute, he designed,
developed and proposed many programs for the advancement of
international and comparative legal studies for Indonesian law school
partners. Previously, he was the Inaugural Fellow of New Asian Publics
at the Institute of Asia and Pacic Studies, University of Nottingham
Malaysia Campus and Visiting Scholar at the Norwegian Centre for
Human Rights, University of Oslo. Most of his publications are centered
on the failure of nationalistic legal thinking in creating a human
rights driven legal system in a new democracy, such as Indonesia.
Currently, his research interest is on the role of international law in the
advancement of human rights in non-western illiberal democracies.
In addition, he has delivered lectures in many universities, including
Peking University School of Transnational Law and Monash University
Malaysia’s School of Arts and Social Sciences.
Valerio de Oliveira Mazzuoli is a Professor at the Program on
Fundamental Rights of University of Itauna-MG (Brazil), Adjunct
Professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso (Brazil), Adjunct
Coordinator of the Master in Environmental Law Program at the
Federal University of Mato Grosso (Brazil), Guest Professor at the post-
graduation law courses of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul
(UFRGS), São Paulo Pontical Catholic University (PUC-SP) and
Londrina State University (UEL), in Brazil, and Honorary Professor of
the University of Huanuco Law and Political Sciences School (Peru).
