NOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS

Pranoto Iskandar is an O’Brien Fellow at the McGill Centre for Human

Rights and Legal Pluralism and founding director of the Institute for

Migrant Rights, Cianjur–Indonesia. He is currently writing a thesis

explicating Indonesia's distinct conception of constitutionalism in the

light of the dead hand of the nation's folk religious traditions.Previously,

Iskandar had lectured at several universities, most recently the Peking

University’s School of Transnational Law and Universitas Trisakti,

Indonesia. He has written, edited and translated a number of books

and articles on the intersection of international law, comparative

constitutionalism, human rights, migration, and farmworker rights.

His most recent scholarly publications appeared in Legal Pluralism and

Critical Social Analysis and Oxford University Comparative Law Forum.

Tao Li is an Associate Professor of law at the School of Law, Hebei

University of Economics and Business. He gained his Ph.D. from

Shandong University School of Law. Dr. Li’s research interests in-

clude ocean and coastal governance, air transport regulation, and

online dispute resolution. His research has been published in lead-

ing international journals, including Marine Policy, Journal of Air

Transport Management, and Journal of International Economic Law.

Alexandra V. Orlova, is a Professor at the Department of Criminol-

ogy in the Faculty of Arts; Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Toronto

Metropolitan University. She received her PhD in law from Osgoode

Hall Law School, York University, in 2004. She also holds a Bachelor

of Laws (LLB) from Osgoode Hall Law School and has been called

to the Bar of Ontario since 2002. Orlova’s main research interests fo-

cus on transnational organized crime, global constitutionalism, hu-

man rights and international crimes. She has been published widely

in a variety of high-impact, international peer-reviewed journals,

has co-edited a book with colleagues from the Immanuel Kant Bal-

tic Federal University and presented her work at a variety of national

and international conferences. Orlova is a member of editorial boards

of Trends in Organized Crime journal and Contemporary Readings

in Law and Social Justice journal. She provided expert opinion per-
