As I have reiterated in countless opportunities, the publication initia-
tive of the Institute for Migrant Rights needs to engage itself beyond the
academic sphere. Although I am not entirely sure how to achieve this
the Institute is steadfast in its desire to push forward with its publica-
tion agenda. To be specic, we operate in a very modest and challenging
environment, which oen makes the aspiration for something “a little
better” an illusory goal. e main challenge we face is the structural
complexity of the paternalistic national market and the authoritarian
tactics of vested interests that have consistently limited the dissemina-
tion of free exchange of ideas in the local space. Despite the challenges,
our mission continues unabated. In particular, we have been elated and
attered at the international reception our eorts have received and we
will continue to focus on the exploration of new and unconventional
message. For what it’s worth, I believe that this fact alone conrms its
resilience and we look forward to welcoming many more years of hard
work to come.
