Corte Interamericana inauguró en Guatemala el módulo virtual del “Programa de Actualización sobre la Jurisprudencia de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos”

THE INTER-AMERICAN COURT INAUG URATED IN GUATEM ALA THE ONLINE MOD ULE OF
THE “UPDATE COURSE ON JURISPRUDENCE OF THE INTER-AMERICAN COURT OF
HUMAN RIGHTS”
San José, Costa Rica, May 23, 2019.- The In ter-American Cou rt inaugurated the online module
of the “Update Course on Jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights”, aimed at
members of the Judicial Branch, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Public Institute for Criminal
Defence in Guatemala, among other institutions for the protection of human rights of this
country. The activity was attended by high-ranking officials from the Constitutional Court and
the Secretary of the Inter-American Court, Mr. Pablo Saavedra Alessandri.
During this online st age, a lawyer and a fo rmer lawyer of the Sec retariat gave an online lecture
at the headquarters of the Inter-American Court on the rights to life and personal integrity in
the jurisprudence of th e Court. After each pr esentation, the floor was opened for questions and
exchanges by the Guatemalan officers, who participated in this module via online from the
courtroom of the Constitutional Court in Guatemala, with personnel from the Inter-American
Court.
