EL CLUB DE MADRID
Y LA DEMOCRACIA GLOBAL
Ha nacido el Club de Madrid, una iniciativa de la Gorbachev Foundation, el Weatherhead Center de Havard y la fundación española Fride, que preside Diego Hidalgo, que han convocado durantes unos días en Madrid, la Conferencia sobre la Transición y Consolidación Democráticas, con la concurrencia de decenas de expertos, y numerosos ex jefes y jefes de Gobierno y Estado, y que naturalmente ha incluido a los españoles.
La iniciativa ha sido doblemente loable, porque el mundo necesita mas democracia cualificada por doquier, y porque enfatiza el ejemplo español, que he servido a muchas democracias emergentes a transitar el camino hacia democracias sostenibles, pese a las carencias que nuestra propia realidad democrática pueda tener, o haya tenido.
Ayudar a consolidar sistemas democráticos nacionales, viene siendo el objetivo de numerosas iniciativas...
