Section 1 List of counsel and duty counsel

Regulation 6726

Criteria to be met by counsel

1. Subject to regul ation 78, sub-regu lation 2, the necessa ry relevant e xperience for

counsel as desc ribed in rule 22 shal l be at least ten years for lead counsel and at least

eight years for ass ociate counsel.

2. Counsel should not have b een convicted of a ser ious criminal or di sciplinary offence

considered to be incompatible w ith the nature of the of f‌ice of counsel before the Cou rt.

Regulation 6827

Assistants to cou nsel

Persons assist ing counsel as described i n rule 22, sub-rule 1, may inc lude persons who can

assist coun sel in the presentation of t he case before a Ch amber. The criter ia to be met by

these persons sha ll be determined in the Reg ulations of the Regist ry.

Regulation 6928

Proof and control of criter ia to be met by counsel

1. A person s eeking to act as counsel sha ll complete the forms provided by the Reg istrar

for this pur pose.

2. A person refer red to in sub-regulation 1 sha ll also provide:

(a) A detailed cur riculum vitae;

(b) A certif‌icate i ssued by each Bar a ssociation the pe rson is regis tered with, and /

or each relevant control ling admi nistrat ive authority con f‌irmi ng his or her

qualif‌ic ations, the right to prac tise and the ex istence, if any, of disc iplinar y

sanctions or ongoi ng disciplinar y proceedings; and

(c) A ce rtif‌icate is sued by the relevant aut hority of each State of wh ich the person

is a national or where t he person is domici led stating the ex istence, if any, of

crim inal conviction s.

3. Cou nsel and persons seeki ng to act as counsel shall i mmediately inform t he Registrar

of any changes to t he informat ion he or she has provided that a re more than de

minimis, including the i nitiation of a ny crimi nal or disc iplinar y proceeding s against

him or her.
