We have received reports that the " UNITED OCEAN ", a 1994 built General Cargo vessel flying the Bolivian flag, has suffered a fire in the engine room and accommodation block off Misurata. Salvage services have been provided by Siem Meling under Lloyds Open Form. The final reward obtained by Salvors will be determined by arbitration in London.
It is carrying a cargo loaded in Misurata and was bound for Algiers.
It is also possible that General Average will be declared.
So far as any recovery is concerned, we have not been able to identify the P&I Club with the entry for this vessel.
If your own guarantees are not acceptable to salvors we can also assist you in arranging salvage security to secure any salvage claims, with a bail fee from 0.5% of the guarantee amount.
