The Security Council on 29 May reiterated the importance of close consultations among the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE), the Boundary Commission and concerned parties on the implementation of the Commission's recent decision on the delimitation of the border between the two formerly warring countries. The 125-page decision was delivered on 13 April to representatives of Eritrea and Ethiopia. According to the Algiers Peace Agreement, signed by the two parties in December 2000, the decision is to be considered "final and binding".
