CALL FOR PAPERS
Sixteenth Jacques Polak Annual Research Conference
“Unconventional Monetary and Exchange Rate Policies”
November 5–6, 2015
The International Monetary Fund will hold the Six teenth Jacques Polak Annual Research Conference at its headquarters in Washing-
ton, DC on November 5–6, 2015. The conference is intended to provide a forum for discussing innovative research in economics and
to facilitate the exchange of views among researchers and policymakers.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Unconventional Monetar y and Exchange Rate Policies.” The Program Committee wel-
comes empirical and theoretical studies on a wide range of issues related to the theme of the conference. Possible topics include
(without being exclusive):
Direct and collateral effects of unconventional monetar y policy
Spillovers of unconventional monetary policy to other countries
Asynchronous unconventional monetary policy
Exit strategies and risks of unwinding quantitative easing
Money nancing of scal decits
Exchange rate policy at the zero lower bound of interest rates
Monetary policy in the context of high public debt
QE as a policy tool in normal times
Interested contributors should submit a draft paper or a detailed t wo-page proposal by June 12, 2015 (e-mail to ARC@imf.org).
Please use the contact author’s name as the name of the le. The Program Commit tee will evaluate all proposals in terms of original-
ity, analytical rigor, and policy relevance and will contact the authors whose papers have been selected by July 3, 2015. A 15-page
work-in-progress draft will be required by August 14, 2015. Travel and hotel expenses of presenting authors will be covered by the
conference organizers. Further information on the conference program will be posted on the I MF website (www.imf.org).
