United Nations: requests under Art icle 19 of t he Charter

The General Assembl y,

Havi ng con sidered chapte r V o f the report of t he Com mittee on C ontribut ions

on it s eighty -fourth session ,

Reaffirm ing the obl igation of Mem ber Sta tes unde r Article 17 of the Cha rter of

the Unite d Nat ions to be ar th e ex penses of the O rganizat ion a s ap portione d by the

Gene ral Assem bly,

1. Reaf firm s its role in ac cordance with the provi sions of Art icle 1 9 of the

Char ter of th e United N ations and t he advi sory role o f the Co mmittee o n

Cont ribution s in accord ance with rule 1 60 of the rules of procedu re of the Genera l

Asse mbly ;

2. Also reaffirm s its re solutio n 54/237 C of 2 3 Decem ber 199 9;

3. Requ ests the Secr etary-G eneral to cont inue to bring to the at tention of

Memb er St ates the de adline speci fied i n res olution 54/ 237 C , inc luding throug h an

early ann ounceme nt in the Jo urnal of the Unit ed N ations and thro ugh direct

comm uni cati on;

4. Urges all Memb er States requ esting exem ption unde r Arti cle 19 of the

Char ter to s ubmit as much i nformati on as p ossible in suppo rt of th eir requ ests and to

cons ider submit ting such inf ormation in adv ance of the dead line specif ied i n

resol ution 54/ 237 C so as to enab le t he c ollation of an y ad ditional det ailed

infor mation that may be nec essary;
