ANNOUNCEMENT
2016 best reviewer awards for CGIR
Corporate Governance: An International Review (CGIR) is fortunate to
have many talented and dedicated individuals who offer their time and
expertise to do reviewing for our journal. We are also fortunate to
have more than 60 dedicated and established governance scholars
serving on our editorial review board, and over 2,000 ad hoc reviewers
in our online database. Of course, some reviewers stand out for pro-
viding consistently exemplary work for the journal, and we are highly
appreciative of their efforts. Notably, all of this work is voluntary and
the only compensation is a free subscription to the journal and a listing
on our masthead for those who serve on our editorial review board.
Clearly, this professionalism and dedication need to be recognized
and celebrated.
In order to recognize some of the truly exceptional reviewers here
at CGIR, the journal conducts an annual “best reviewer”award in order
to recognize those individuals who truly stand out. Our policy is of not
repeating winners in a 3‐year period as we would like to enlarge the
number of scholars which we would like to recognize for their great
contribution to the journal.
Listed below are the previous award winners:
2007 ‐Till Talaulicar, PhD, Universität Erfurt, Germany
2008 ‐Eduardo Schiehll, PhD, HEC Montreal, Canada

In 2016, we are pleased to announce that Peter Jaskiewicz is one
of the two reviewers recognized for their contributions to our jour-
nal. Peter is a Professor in Enduring Entrepreneurship at the Telfer
School of Management, University of Ottawa. Peter received a PhD
in Management at the European Business School (EBS) and held pre-
vious positions at the EBS and University of Alberta and University
of Concordia. His contribution to the journal has been excellent as
he has provided a high number of quality and timely (with an average
of about 23 days) reviews. In 2016, Peter handled 8 manuscripts and
earned a perfect average reviewer score of 3.0 (out of 3.0). We com-
mend Peter for his extensive and developmental reviews.
In addition to Peter, we would also like to recognize as an out-
standing reviewer, Federica Pazzaglia. Federica is a Senior Lecturer at
the Quinn School of Business, University College Dublin. She received
a PhD from Alberta University and held previous positions at Alberta
and Manitoba University. In 2016, Federica handled 10 manuscripts
with a perfect average reviewer score of 3.0 and a low turnaround time
(about 25 days). Thanks to her timely and remarkable reviews, Federica
contributed significantly to the editorial review process of CGIR.
As a token of our appreciation for Peter's and Federica's service
to the journal, we will be providing them each with a plaque, similar
to our previous distinguished award winners. While this plaque could
never compensate them for their many years of training and exper-
tise as well as their many hours of extraordinary service to the
journal, it is a tangible symbol of their generous and professional con-
tributions to international corporate governance scholarship. On
behalf of Wiley‐Blackwell and CGIR, we recognize and celebrate
scholars such as Peter Jaskiewicz and Federica Pazzaglia for their
service to the field.
